Wusthof knives are manufactured in Germany. Based in Solingen in Germany, Wusthof is one of the greatest and renowned knife manufacturers in the world. Records show that the factory was operating as early as 1814.
Wusthof knives have modern production facilities with over 300 craftsmen. Wusthof blend good old-fashioned craftsmanship with modern high-tech design and production methods. The result is a product that is rich in heritage as well as being state of the art in technology.
The special steel used in the production of Wusthof knives is a blend of chrome-vanadium-molybdenum steel. This confers on Wusthof knives the following qualities: Superb degree of sharpness, retention of cuting edge, highly resistant to staining. The high carbon content means that Wusthof knives are easy to sharpen to their new condition.
Wusthof knives are produced by a 40 stage production process from the stage of forging through tempering – Wusthof knives – German Knives craftsmanship excellence at its peak.
